    Ferrari Maserati of Silicon Valley

    Redwood City, CA

    Located on a busy thoroughfare, Ferrari Maserati of Silicon Valley is a fitting showcase for some of the world's most beautiful automobiles. The modern aluminum facade contrasts with the traditional italian stone walls and autocourt. A raised limestone platform helps showcase the cars along the street elevation. A 20-seat Italian Bistro has also been incorporated into the plan. The service area includes the latest modern equipment and design finishes. The customer is able to view their vehicle being serviced from the second floor waiting room and observation area. KRP's scope of services included architectural and interior design for the entire project.

    Allison BMW

    Mountain View, CA

    This project is located on the El Camino Real in Mountain View, California. An existing commercial building was remodeled as a 24,000 square foot automobile showroom. For maximum exposure to the busy street, 16-foot high continuous storefront windows allow customers a direct view into the showroom. A new mezzanine level provides office and conference space overlooking the showroom. On the rear of the site, a former parking lot has been converted into a new service center and customer parking garage. Automobile delivery and servicing are kept separate from the showroom activity while maintaining convenient access between all functions of the dealership. The result is a building that efficiently serves Allison BMW's purpose while enhancing the existing commercial setting.

    Infiniti of San Jose

    San Jose, CA

    Rector Motors

    Burlingame, CA

    Located on Highway 101, Rector Motors has an exposure to the major highway of the San Francisco Bay Area. This sensitive remodel of a 1950's warehouse/showroom is stunning. Kenneth Rodrigues & Partners design features a circular showroom window at the corner of the site using silver aluminum panels and glass which emphasizes the Porsche/Audi image. Spectacular night lighting illuminates the building and its precious contents. One of the challenges that KRP successfully dealt with was keeping the building operational while the new construction was being completed. KRP completed the architecture, interior design, fixtures and furnishings for this exciting project.

    Heritage Bank of Commerce

    San Jose, CA

    Heritage Bank is located in the base of a high rise building in downtown San Jose. A high ceiling gallery opens the main entry and becomes the pedestrian circulation and a gallery for the clients art collection. Kenneth Rodrigues & Partners selected an eclectic mixture of light fixtures and lighting to define high impact areas. All fixtures, furnishings, and fabrics were selected by the architect to complete the total design concept.

    The Hotel De Anza

    San Jose, CA

    The Hotel De Anza, circa 1930, is located in downtown San Jose, California. The original hotel successfully blended Moorish and Deco architecture styles, carrying both these strong statements into public spaces and guest rooms. In an effort to restore this great work of art to it's former grandeur, Kenneth Rodrigues & Partners developed and enhanced its existing eclectic mix of architectural styles. The exterior Deco facade has been restored and enhanced through color, materials, and lighting. An urban garden patio at the rear of the hotel includes a fountain, sculptured topiary, and a small oasis of palm trees.

    Sierra Ventures

    Menlo Park, CA

    Kenneth Rodrigues & Partners designed a lightfilled, open office environment for this well established Venture Capital firm. The 10,000 square foot interior is complete with a large scale fully functioning video conference room with the latest in multi media equipment. The space is organized around an eight foot wide "main street." This circulation spine serves to organize the conference rooms and partners' offices terminating at a general office open space which houses the bulk of the firm's staff. KRP was responsible for space planning, design drawings, construction administration, furnishings and fixtures.

    Cupertino, CA

    Located in the heart of the City of Cupertino this “New Downtown” will be an exciting mix of pedestrian uses including; a 4-story 100,000 SF office building, 150-room hotel, 160,000 SF of retail, 140 units of senior housing all located around a 2-acre town square. The uses will be served by street parking and a 600-car parking garage located in the center of the project. Outdoor plazas, restaurants, and pedestrian orientated uses will create a unique lifestyle project adjacent to the Cupertino Square shopping mall.

    Miraido Village

    San Jose, CA

    This 109-unit apartment project with 15,000 square feet of retail shops is located in San Jose's Japantown. The 4-buildings consist of two 3-story wood frame structures with lofts, a 2-story residential building and a 5,000 square foot community building. The landscaped traditional and modern garden includes a series of public spaces and a special entry water feature. The design character is modern Japanese - American, consisting of design features found in both Eastern and Western Architecture.

    1050 Arastradero

    Palo Alto, CA

    Located on a gently rolling site in the Stanford Business Park, this two-building, 80,000 square foot project takes its cue from the Stanford Campus. Sandstone-colored walls, clay tile roofs and early California “mission style” architecture are exhibited throughout the project. The buildings are located within a 2-acre vineyard and surround a historical courtyard. The precast concrete panels are detailed to emulate the sandstone blocks found at Stanford. Tile roofing, copper gutters, and pedestrian arcades further enhance the traditional look. The courtyard includes a water feature, tables, and other pedestrian elements which encourage outdoor activities.

    Xerox Corporate Campus

    Palo Alto, CA

    Located on a gently rolling site within Stanford Business Park, the 210,000 square foot campus consists of five 2-story buildings centered around a formal garden. Terraced lawns and patios form outdoor employee gathering spaces and enhance the natural surroundings of the site. The buildings are constructed of large glass window walls, taking advantage of the views to the surrounding hills and internal gardens. Precast buff-colored concrete wall panels form a strong contrast to the natural colors within the gardens. Projecting balconies and deep recessed windows add to the building articulation.

    San Jose, CA

    Located off Whisman Road and Middlefield Road in Mountain View, California, is Netscape's Corporate Campus. Centered around a formal entry drive are seven sandstone colored buildings containing three private courtyards. The 2 and 3-story buildings total approximately 448,000 square feet of office space for this growing internet company. The rusticated articulated panels form a rich contrast to the intricate landscape courtyards. These courtyards are perfect for informal meetings and gatherings. A covered archway in front of each of the buildings provides additional shade and shelter.

    Sunnyvale Town Center

    Sunnyvale, CA

    Taking cues from the vernacular architecture and pedestrian elements of Sunnyvale’s celebrated downtown Murphy Street, this project creates a powerful new city center. The desire to return to the city’s original street grid has lead the design to define 6 blocks that integrate 260,000 SF of office, 922,000 SF of retail shops, 292 housing units, a multi-screen cineplex and a 200 room hotel.
    Pedestrians from the surrounding business and residential neighborhoods will discover a walkable retail experience. Ground floor facades are intended to enrich the pedestrian experience with architectural interest and individual tenant expression through vivid colors and high quality materials, all of which culminate at the 1 acre Redwood Square, town center. The project development team is pursuing LEED certified status for the entire project.

    Santa Clara County Fairgrounds Master Plan

    San Jose, CA

    This mixed-use project on 75 acres consists of retail shops, a multi-screen cineplex, market square shops, offices, medium to high density housing, a new charter school and public park. Parking for the uses will be located in multi-level garages centrally located in each block.
    Pedestrians from the surrounding business and residential neighborhoods will discover a walkable retail experience. Ground floor facades are intended to enrich the pedestrian experience with architectural interest and individual tenant expression through vivid colors and high quality materials, all of which culminate at the Town Square market shops. The project development team is pursuing LEED certified status for the entire project.

    Sun Garden Retail Center

    San Jose, CA

    This 207,000 sf retail center takes cue from it's vernacular architecture of the sound garden packing company, which was originally located on this site. The front facade is enhanced with a pedestrian arcade that is constructed of brick columns, wood supporting members, and natural colored aluminum roofing. The arcade allows for an outdoor sales area and seating for shoppers to eat, relax, and enjoy. Along the pedestrian arcade are affixed areas for advertisement and display of historic graphics that portray the history of the Sun Garden.

    Main Street

    San Jose, CA

    This 140,000 square foot project takes its cue from a downtown main street. The shops are designed as a series of individual tenant spaces with unique and varying shop fronts located on a pedestrian spine. The buildings consist of deep earth tone plaster walls, used to further reinforce the individuality of the shops. The building walls are articulated with historical cornice and trim details, varying awnings and storefront designs that further reinforce the Main Street concept. There is a mixture of uses including a market, bookstore, music store, restaurants and other neighborhood support shops. The pedestrian walkways are enhanced with benches, lights, street trees and signage to complete the Main Street theme.

    Mercado

    Santa Clara, CA

    Located in Santa Clara, California off Highway 101, this 214,000 square foot retail center is designed to resemble a mexican shopping district with shop fronts located on a pedestrian spine and public plaza. The buildings consist of deep earthtone plaster walls used to further reinforce the theme and shopping experience. There are a mixture of uses including an AMC cineplex, Micro Center computer store, TJ Maxx n' More and a series of small shops and restaurants. Strong architectural forms compliment the color palette creating a series of small shop spaces similar to a downtown marketplace. The formal entry is highlighted by unique signage. An outdoor sculpture further enhances the festive quality of Mercado.

    Pleasanton Gateway

    Pleasanton, CA

    This 130,253 SF square foot neighborhood center takes its inspiration from the historical downtown shops in Pleasanton. A pedestrian arcade links the market and the many restaurants and stores. This pedestrian oriented retail experience includes many outdoor dining plazas and seating areas. Unique lighting and landscaping further enhance this experience. Building materials include wood siding, stone walls, precast trim and artesian plaster finishes. The parking has been grouped into small landscaped courts near each of the shop facades.

    The Plant

    San Jose, CA

    This 48 acre, 650,000 sf regional retail center takes it’s cue from the vernacular architecture of the General Electric Plant, which was originally located on this site. The front facade is enhanced with a pedestrian arcade that is constructed of brick columns, steel supporting members, and natural colored aluminum roofing. The arcade allows for an outdoor sales area and outdoor plaza seating for shoppers to eat, relax, and enjoy. Along the pedestrian arcade are affixed areas for advertisement and display of historic graphics that portray the history of the General Electric.

    United Artists

    San Jose, CA

    Located on the Paseo de San Antonio, this 3-story, eight screen cineplex is the centerpiece of redevelopment in Downtown San Jose. The eight theaters have a total of 4,000 seats and a large glass atrium lobby. The geometrical forms that shape the lobby take their cue from the adjacent Paseo and Pavilion shops. The stepped glass atrium lobby is further enhanced with bold colors and shapes to form an exciting urban space. The combination of glass block and steel are a striking addition to the surrounding office buildings and hotels. Twelve liquid screens and projectors are attached to the Paseo elevation. These screens show movie trailers to energize the pedestrian activity along the Paseo.

    La Rinconada Country Club

    Los Gatos, CA

    Located in the historic town of Los Gatos the La Rinconada Country Club remodel includes a major renovation of the existing clubhouse and pro shop facilities. The dining areas, mens and womens locker rooms and mixed grille have been remodeled and upgraded. A new façade has been designed to echo quaint the Spanish character of this town. Outdoor dining patios with stone fireplaces create new dining experiences. The existing pro shop has been completely updated and refinished to compliment the clubhouse. A new pool, spa and pool house have also been planned to offer the member a complete country club experience.

    Ruby Hill Proshop/Grille

    Pleasanton, CA

    Located on the incomparable wine country setting and scenic beauty of Ruby Hill Golf Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus, this 18-hole course features a 12,000 square foot Proshop/Grille. Special features include a food grille and golf cart storage facility. This 2-story building is constructed with rich Italian exterior details. Stone trim around the windows, clay roof tile, an outdoor terrace lined with stone balustrades, high coffered ceilings all enhance the atmosphere. A rustic wood barn gate welcomes you to Ruby Hill Golf Club. Views from the Proshop include the formal landscape gardens and bocce ball courts as well as the new Ruby Hill Clubhouse.

    Saint Francis High School Chris Bradford Stadium

    Mountain View, CA

    Located on the St. Francis High School campus, the new stadium facility provides a great opportunity for team success in multiple sports. The new facilities offer the 2800 spectators a dramatic raised view of the playing field. Under the stands are new offices, training rooms and men’s and women’s lockerooms. The stadium also includes lighting for night events which allows more school teams to use the facility for many different types of events.

    San Jose Sharks Training Center

    San Jose, CA

    This new expansion to the Ice Center of San Jose includes two new ice rinks and a complete NHL training/ practice facility for the San Jose Sharks. The training center includes new offices, medical rooms, fitness center, along with a team locker room. The new project also includes a San Jose Sharks merchandise store, fan viewing areas, a video projection studio and a new 5,000 square foot restaurant. The facility is shared between the Sharks and the general public. Youth and adult leagues have grown to such a great need all five ice rinks are booked seven days a week.

    San Juan Oaks Clubhouse

    Hollister, California

    Located on the first Fred Couples "signature" golf course in California, this 18-hole course features a 20,000 square foot clubhouse. The clubhouse is situated in a lush valley surrounded by acres of classic California rolling hills. The single story building is constructed with many articulated mission style doors and windows that frame the views overlooking the putting green, 1st and 9th holes. The exposed heavy timber trusses enhance the interior spaces, integral color stucco walls and the rich clay roof tiles are just a few elements that form this California mission style architecture. The golf club also includes a cart barn and snack shack not only to aid in the function of the course but also to compliment the setting.

    Menlo School

    Atherton, California

    Located on 15 acres in Atherton, the Menlo School and College athletic complex consists of two baseball stadiums, a football/soccer stadium and a aquatics/tennis center. Each of the fields and their field houses are connected by a grand concourse running north-south. The buildings range from 1 to 3-story brick structures housing locker rooms, strength/conditioning rooms, team meeting rooms and coaching offices. The project site is sensitively located in a residential neighborhood surrounded by mature oak trees.

    Kenneth Rodrigues

    Ken is the founding partner and is also the firm’s Design Director. His role is to develop the client’s program into an overall design vision for the project. He has directed the design of many of the firm’s most intricate projects throughout the design phase and public approval process.

    Ken has practiced architecture since graduating from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, School of Architecture and Environmental Design in 1976. He was advanced to Fellowship of the American Institute of Architects in 1995.

    Kevin Jones

    Kevin’s role is to provide leadership to the KRP staff as a managing partner. He is a design collaborator, partner in charge through the technical phases of the project, ensuring that the design concepts are integrated through the entirety of the project.

    Kevin has been a member of Kenneth Rodrigues & Partners since the firm’s inception in 1986. He completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University and has a master’s degree in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.
